LiveDeskCal Tips and Tricks

This guide will discuss and explain some of the Settings in LiveDeskCal to help you customize it to your exact needs. To view the Widget settings, after clicking Show to display the Month View, click the Blue down arrow at the top.

Check the corresponding numbers in the screenshot:

  1. Settings: This will open the main Settings for LiveDeskCal if you need to change a Sync option (Lite and Pro)
  2. Add: This button let’s you quickly add a new event. You can also add events by clicking the Day Cell.
  3. Search: Search for events by Subject or Notes.
  4. Themes: This option will cycle between the 4 themes of LiveDeskCal, Light\Dark and Transparent\Solid options.
  5. Hide Completed: This button Shows\Hides events that are marked Complete.
  6. Lock: Enabling the Lock will prevent the Widget from being moved or any events from being added. Prevents accidental clicks!
  7. Category Filter: This will let you Show or Hide events by their Categories. You can also add new Categories from this menu.
  8. Today: Jumps you to the current Day\Month.
  9. Show\Hide Holidays: LiveDeskCal has preset Holiday Calendars, this lets you show or hide them.
  10. Print: Print your Calendar!
  11. Alarms: Shows a list of upcoming events with alarms.
  12. Restore Deleted: Recover Deleted records.
  13. More Settings: Opens a menu with More Settings for LiveDeskCal (see below).

Advanced Settings

From the Month View, click the Down Arrow at the top to show the Settings, then select the 3 bars.

Check the corresponding Setting and discription:

  1. Multi-Select for Linked Contacts: Allows you to add more than one linked contact to an event.
  2. Custom Calendar Event Duration: Create a selectable Custom Duration for events.
  3. Custom Calendar Event Duration #2: Create a second selectable Custom Duration for events.
  4. Default Calendar Event Duration: Sets the Default Duration for all new events.
  5. Day View Subject Format: Show Company Name or Linked contact in Event Subject.
  6. Hour Format: 12 or 24 hour format.
  7. Use Calendar Icons: Enable Emojis in Event Edit.
  8. Use Calendar Icons for Call, Meet, Task: Show Icons instead of Type Text (Act! and Goldmine)
  9. Emojis: Edit and customize your Emoji list.
  10. Month View Category Color: Show Category Color on Background of events or as Text Color
  11. Report Start Time: Start Time for Day View Print.
  12. Report Duration: How many hours to show in Day View Print.
  13. Default Call Duration: Set a default for Call type events (Act! and Goldmine).
  14. First Day of Week: Set your first day of the Week.
  15. Start of the Day: Set earliest time displayed in Day View.
  16. Default Category: Set a default category for all new events.
  17. Show Start time in Day View: Show the Start time on the event text.
  18. Show Duration in Day View: Show the Duration of events in the event text.
  19. Edit Screen Format: Classic or Modern Edit View.
  20. Day View Interval: Set interval of Hours\Minutes on Day view.
  21. Week View Interval: TBR
  22. Minimum Event Display Size: Controls event size when event durations are small.
  23. Activity Types: Add Event Types, Call, Meet, Todo (Act! and Goldmine).
  24. Default Activity Type: When Types are enabled sets a default for all new events.
  25. Calls Default as Free: Set Status of calls as “free” for availability purposes.
  26. Default Time Zone: Sets default time zone of new events to the PC’s time zone. Allows for manual selection.
  27. All Day Rows: How many rows to show for All Day Events.
  28. Calendar Event Preview Hover Panel: Shows event details, when hovering over an Event.
  29. Show Week Number: Enables week Numbers.
  30. Show Start Time in Month View: Shows Event Start time in text.
  31. Stack All Day Events Vertically: Cycles between horizontal and vertical all day events in day cells.
  32. Show More by Default: Shows “More” in the edit panel by default.
  33. Strikethrough Completed Events: Show Completed events with a Strikethrough.
  34. Open View on Selection: Opens a View\Detail Panel instead of direct Edit when selecting events.
  35. Require Double Click for Add: Requires a double click to Add new events. Can prevent accidental clicks.
  36. Require Shift for Drag and Drop: To Drag and Drop Events, holding shift is required. Can prevent accidental moving of events.
  37. Max Events per Day View: How many events can appear next to each other at the same time.
  38. Holidays: Enable Holidays from a list of built in Holdays.
  39. Purge Calendar: Delete all events or events before a selected date.
  40. Rebuild Calendar: Clears the display cache. Can help with display issues.
